ARE YOU UP FOR THE TEST
Today’s devotion poses several questions. Simply put, the questions are, “Are you up for the test of faith? Are you fortified by God’s strength to handle life’s problems? Do you know for sure that God has given you the power to withstand no matter what comes your way?” If you can truthfully answer “Yes,” then you can be counted on to be faithful in times of need to trust and depend on God. You are fully prepared for
the tests of life. Each of us will be tested, so the time to get ready is now! In Psalm 139:23, we find these words:
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
psalmist is speaking to the Lord, wanting Him to test him. He wants the Lord to point out anything that may be offensive to God so that he can follow the path of everlasting life. He begins this psalm by saying, “Lord you have examined my heart and know everything about me…. You know what I’m going to say even before I say it…” Read this entire psalm. Prayerfully, we are all fully prepared for the test. Prayerfully we can all say to the Lord, like the psalmist, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Guide me along the path of everlasting life.”
