AN OPEN DOOR
Today’s devotion is from the book of Revelations. God extended an invitation to those who are willing to hear His voice, follow Him, and confess their sins to Him. He will open the door. What a glorious invitation extended to every race, age and anyone who is willing to come through the open door. We know that all you have to do is knock and the door shall be open. This scripture is from Revelation 3:20:
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Notice that Jesus is already at the door. All one has to do is to repent at the door and knock. According to the text, we do not have to ask Him to come to the door for He is already there. We are able to have intimate fellowship with the living Christ. What a beautiful picture we see in this scripture. The table is set, the feast is going on, and all we have to do is open the door. He is waiting for us and wants to receive us. There is mercy and grace that He wants to impart in us. What can we say to this invitation other than, “Hear my Lord knocking at the door.” Thank God, for those who have knocked and found the door open. I know that I can say that I went to Jesus as I was, weary, worn and then made glad. I know I am not the only one, for countless others have been blessed by that open door. This is the day that the Lord bids you to come to that door. If you have never sought to approach that open door, do it today. If you have experienced that open door in your life, then give God praise today.
