Believers must always be ready to serve God. We do not know how God will call us, or when He will call us. Our hearts must always be open to do His will. We know that obedience is better than sacrifice. The question I pose in this devotion is, are you ready for God to use you? Are you available? I remember a song we sang in church, “Lord I am available to you.” Is that your song today? Our scripture is Deuteronomy 10:12

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul.”

The writer speaks of a call of love and obedience. He is fully aware that the Lord requires those who serve Him please Him, by serving with all their heart, soul, and mind by honoring His commands. He speaks to Israel. Israel is called to follow the Lord. He makes it clear that the Lord is a God of all gods and Lord of all lords. He is a Mighty God whose love is available to all who call upon His righteous name. Israel is to honor and serve God. That is our call today: to honor and serve God. We are always to be ready to do the Lord’s work and will. Prayerfully, you are ready today to be used for His glory, for He is worthy to be praised, and honored.
