Alone With God
There are times in our lives when we need to be alone with God. It is in those sacred moments that we should not only talk to Him, but also listen to what He has to say. There are things God wants to say to us, but because of the noise around us, we can’t hear Him. That’s why it is so important to have private time with Him. In this busy world of ours, there are so many distractions. If we are not careful, we can become confused as to who is speaking. Not only are there voices from the outside, but there are also voices from within. Our flesh also has a way of getting our attention; consequently, we must discern that the voice we hear is indeed the voice of the Lord. In Mark 4:34, we find these words:
“In fact, in his public ministry he never taught without using parables; but afterward, when he wasalonewith his disciples, he explained everything to them.”
This is a story about faith. Before the disciples got in the ship to face the storm, the Master spent time alone with them, explaining things. And Jesus spent time alone with His Father. It is my prayer today that we create time to talk privately with God each day. It is so important. In fact, it is essential to our relationship with Him, so that we will know His will for our lives.
