All Things Are Pure
God desires that we have pure hearts that are not contaminated with sin and evil. When we have a pure heart, we think of things that are holy, right, and true. We think good of all people. Our hearts hold the secrets of our thoughts. In Titus 1:15, we find these words:
“Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.”
Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) tells us to “keep your heart with all diligence for out of it spring the issues of life.” The writer calls to mind the attitude of those who keep their hearts pure. In this case, he speaks about the purity of the mind and conscience. Don’t be corrupt, but be pure in all things. Refrain from things that are unclean. One can sum it up in this manner: be pure in all things, to the extent that one’s life is cleansed of all evil motives so that we live with the right spirit. Prayerfully, we are living today not only with a pure heart, but also without selfish motives.
