ACT AS A CHILD OF GOD
In April of this year, Sr. Pastor Alyn Waller of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church preached one of his powerful sermons entitled I Refuse To Hate. That deep and profound message still resonates in my heart. We live in a world filled with hate and we see it every day in our country. Some dislike people based upon their color, gender, and occupation. As children of God, we must act like we are children of the Most High God. We cannot act any ole’ way and expect God to be pleased. There is a standard for every child of God. Today’s devotion speaks of the need to act as a child of God. Our scripture reference is James 2:12 and reads in this manner.
“So whatever you say or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law that sets you free.”
In this chapter, James warns against prejudice. Throughout this chapter, he speaks of the need to treat people in a way that pleases God. He says, “whatever you say or do, remember that you will be judged by the law that sets you free.” There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. When you get a chance read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, you are aware of your Heavenly Father and you seek to live to please Him.
