A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE
As I was preparing this devotion, I could not help but think of the opportunity that God has given to us to offer Him the sacrifice of praise. God has granted us the ability to let praises ring from our hearts and let our lips express our gratitude to Him. To honor God with praises, one must have a heart of gratitude and realize that all we have comes from God. All we will ever be is because of Him. I would ask you to take a moment now, and give God praise. No one should have to beg us to offer our praises unto God. Our praise ought to flow freely and fully to acknowledge His High and Holy Name. I would ask that you focus on a scripture every day found in Hebrews 13:15.
“Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His name.”
Christ made the supreme sacrifice on the cross, making the way accessible for us to have relationship with Him. This is the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude. Such sacrifices are pleasing unto God. Redemption throws light on the blessed knowledge that Christ died for our sins. We owe Him so much! What else can we render unto Him, for He owns everything? The least we can do is offer our praise to Him. For those who say, “It doesn’t take all that”, it takes opening our hearts and raising our voices with praise. Whatever we can do, whether lifting our hands or being animated (as some have said), we are offering God all the praise He is due.
