A Pure Heart

It is essential that our hearts are clear and pure in all that we do for the Lord. We must have not only a clean heart, but also a right mind. We cannot serve the Lord unless we have had a heart transformation. In Isaiah 6:8 we find these word:

Then I heard the LORD asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”

In the previous verse, Isaiah makes it known that an angel had touched him. His iniquity has been taken away and his sin purged. After that experience, the Lord speaks and Isaiah answers, “Here am I; send me.” This encounter prepared him for the assignment. Both his heart and his life had been changed and he had been empowered to proclaim the Word of the Lord. We cannot ask others’ hearts to be changed until we have had a change in heart. In today’s society, we often hear people speak of a knee replacement, but I would argue that what we really need is a heart replacement. If in need of a heart replacement, go to the Great Physician and ask Him for a pure heart.
