On this Mother’s Day, give God thanks for loving mothers. If you have been blessed with a caring mother, give God thanks! If you have been blessed with a godly mother who knows the Lord, serves the Lord, and offers prayers unto God, give God thanks! The Bible speaks clearly about the need to honor our mothers, so today we pray for the mothers who have honored God with their lives. We pray for the many women who have not had biological children but who have been a blessing to so many. We pray for all mothers — single mothers, widowed mothers, grandmothers, and those who will soon be mothers. We pray for sisters who have taken the time to serve as mothers to others. And we give God thanks for those mothers who have been called home to glory. We honor them, we respect them, and we love them. All women of God have demonstrated what it means to be a virtuous woman. In Proverbs 31:28, we find these words:

“Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her.”

The author of this text speaks about a virtuous woman, indicating in his writing that those who serve the Lord will be greatly praised for all that she has done.
