A Living Sacrifice

Today’s devotion indicates that we should live lives holy and acceptable unto God. Every born-again believer is called upon to live a life of sacrifice. To live sacrificially is a directive to all God’s children — clergy as well as laity. When I say all, I do mean all. No one is omitted. We cannot give the excuse that we have no knowledge of our responsibility. We are all accountable unto God. In Romans 12:1, we find these words:

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him

Paul, calls on God’s people to walk worthy of their calling, telling them that it is their duty and responsibility. He wants them to worship God with their entire being. A full and living sacrifice includes offering God our spiritual worship, our bodies, our living, and our serving as a sacrifice. Before you bring your tithes, offer God first your body. The rest will be easy.
