A LIFE WELL-LIVED
As Pastor, I have been privileged to eulogize many people at their homegoing celebrations. Each person had a remarkable story of a life worth remembering. I have a plaque in my office that reads, “It doesn’t matter how much you have, but how much you shared with others.” These are wise words to live by. It is my prayer that we will all be remembered by the love we shared with one another, because that is what God would have us do. In Psalm 37:37, we find these words:
“Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace.”
The psalmist is telling us to pay attention to those who honor God. He goes on to say, in verse 38, that the rebellious will be destroyed and they have no future. God wants us to live a life that is filled with love and peace. I pray that we are living a life that is pleasing unto God. In other words, a life that is well-lived. It is not how long we live, but how well we live that matters.
