Think for a few minutes about the blessed knowledge that God has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. We have not chosen Him, but He has chosen us. That is the reason to shout right now! In 1 Peter 2:9, we find these words:

“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”

God, in His marvelous love for us, has called His people out of darkness into the marvelous light of salvation. The people that God has formed for Himself are called to show praises unto the Lord. It is a reminder that privilege implies responsibility. The people of God must walk in His marvelous light. People of royalty — that’s who we are. Prayerfully, we are well aware that we are set aside for service to Him. May we always walk in the royalty that has been given to us, and may our lives reflect that we are the chosen people of God.
