A BETTER DAY
As I write this devotion, I am thinking of a contemporary song. I do not know the lyrics or the artist, just the phrase, A Better Day. You might be surprised that I refer to a contemporary song. Believers ought to have a balanced life, enjoy all types of music, and value life in its totality. Your life with Christ causes you to appreciate life to its fullest. Because God holds our future in His hands, God’s tomorrows are better than today. Tragically, some live with few expectations. However, God’s people know that God can turn darkness into light. He can turn cloudy days into sunny days. Our God can do all things and do all things well. Our scripture lesson is Ephesians 5:16.
“Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.”
We read Paul’s words of the importance of living by God’s Spirit. He indicates that we ought to be careful to we live wisely, and not foolishly. Take advantage of every opportunity that God gives to us because there is a better day coming. Thank God for everything. Be filled with the Spirit and know that whatever we experience shall pass and a better day is coming. Do not live life as if there is nothing to look forward to. Live a life pleasing unto God. He references living in the light. Live each day to its fullest and do not borrow tomorrow’s troubles or live on yesterday’s sorrows. Know, that this is the day that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it. Thank God those troubles don’t last always. There is indeed a bright side. As children of the light, we live on the bright side.
