A Real Relationship With God
I John 4:4 (KJV)

I believe with all of my heart that every believer ought to have a real relationship with God, not a second hand, but a personal, authentic, intimate relationship with God. A real relationship allows you to give Him glory, honor, and praise. A real relationship that has occurred because you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you repented of your sins. A real relationship comforts you in the midst of grief and pain, and allows you to know God for yourself. As I thought about this relationship and its importance, the Spirit of God led me to I John 4:9: dailyDevotions_sm.fw

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world."

Here is a personal and corporate testimony that we have seen is the testimony of the church. You also express personal witness that Jesus is your personal Savior, not just Savior of the world. There are no motives or self-interest. You just want to express the love of God in your life. You know God to be a God of love that He sent His only begotten Son that you might live and dwell in Him. The Love of God was made manifest in our lives. Oh, my brothers and sisters, there is nothing like having a real relationship with God. The songwriter wrote, "He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am his own." Of the many relationships I am blessed with, the one relationship that I cherish the most is my relationship with God. I am well aware that I cannot have a real relationship with God and not have real relationships with people. It all starts with God. To God be the glory.
