Draw Close To God

James 4:8(NKJV)

Whenever the struggles of life wear you down and burdens seem to be all around, draw close to God. As you draw close to Him you will find the strength to overcome any and every obstacle in life. No matter what your situation the Lord is sufficient not only to renew your strength but to give you the victory. James in his epistle penned these words:

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded”

These are not words of condemnation but an appeal for a change in heart and mind. The writer is simply asking the believers to turn their heart over to God.  This is essential in that some of the choices that we make are the root of our trouble. These words; “draw close to God” are an invitation to receive God’s love and mercy.  As you read this letter you will discover that when you draw close to God even the devil has to flee. It is my prayer today that you will accept this gracious invitation and draw close to God and He will draw close to you.
