God is Among Us

Deuteronomy 7:21(NLT)

When you are confronted by enemies there is no reason to fear, for God is with us.  There will be people who will seek to hurt us, defeat us and who do not have the best interest for our lives. If you are reading this devotion and feel you can honestly say that an enemy has never confronted you; then just keep on living.  There is no getting around it. There will be people who will have a dislike for you without a reasonable cause, but again just remember God is among us. In Deuteronomy 7:21 we read these words:

“Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.”

The writer of these words seeks to dispel the fears of the people by telling them to remember what the Lord has done.  He lets them know that even though they are weak they should not be afraid, for the same God who was in the mist of the enemies of their fathers was also with them. If God be with us, we need not fear the power of any creature against us. Oh, if we could just remember that with God on our side we can make it.
