Safe in the Arms of the Shepherd

Isaiah 40:11(NLT)

When I came to Bethlehem Baptist Church 22 years ago one of the many blessings I experienced was from Lynnett Graham who was the director for the Voices of Love Choir. She loved the Lord and was a gifted musician. Lynnett often sang “Safe in His Arms” which truly blessed my soul each time I heard that powerful message.  The words of that song spoke to my heart as a reminder that whatever we are going through we are safe in the arms of a Shepherd. The Word of God in Isaiah 40:11 clearly indicates that we are safe in His arms:

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms
  and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

The writer of these words lets us know that the Shepherd gathers to His bosom the young lambs that He deeply values, and because they are unable to care for themselves He guides, protects and comforts them.  Thanks be unto God that when we follow the Shepherd, no matter what our situation, we are assured that we are safe in His arms.  It is my prayer today that you will always know there is safety and security in His loving arms.
